Chapter 1.6 – Home

It is nearly dark by the time Julian and Bebe arrive at the cottage.

It is a tiny log structure built at the far back corner of an enormous lot. The vista is spectacular and Julian, still speechless, can only stand in slack-jaw wonderment.

Bebe can see he is awestruck and replies as if he has spoken. She says in a nearly
whispering voice, she believes, somehow, that this place is being saved for something
miraculous. Julian tries to speak, but his head is spinning, and he thinks it best
to just listen.

Bebe opens the door and motions for Julian to follow. She asks him why he would
want to sleep outside on lounge chairs when he has such an amazing home. It is the
same question Julian is silently asking himself, as well.

The interior of the place is old and rustic (and rusty). The appliances have not
been well kept, and furnishings are sparse. With some work, he could sell this place
for a pretty good profit… the land alone was probably worth a small fortune. The
thought if it snaps him out of his trance. Perhaps, Julian ponders, it isn’t time
to leave Sunset Valley quite yet.

He could use Bebe as well. She could provide a small and steady income from rent
and a convenient alibi if Hank the goody-goody decided to play Boy Scout again.
Julian turns on his charm (snake oil), and presents Bebe with the offer. If she
would look after the place while he was working, she could stay at the cabin for
a very small charge.

The over-friendly, good-natured Bebe nearly bursts into tears. Of course she would
accept!

    1. Julian was quite a fun sim to play. It’s not that he’s a bad guy, he just doesn’t put a whole lot of energy into doing the right thing. All things said and done, though, I think he turns out okay. 😀
